Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Disability Ireland website or placing an order with us. By accessing our website or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website.

1. About Us

Disability Ireland operates the website disabilityireland.com. We are based in Northern Ireland and supply disability aids, mobility equipment, and daily living products to customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

For any queries regarding these terms, please contact us at: disabilityireland.com/contact-us.

2. Use of This Website

By using this website you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age, or are using the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian
  • The personal information you provide is accurate and complete
  • You will not use this website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
  • You will not attempt to damage, interfere with, or gain unauthorised access to any part of the website

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to this website at our discretion, without notice, if we believe these terms are being breached.

3. Products and Descriptions

We take care to ensure that all product descriptions, images, and specifications on our website are accurate. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is entirely free from error. Product images are for illustrative purposes only and the actual product may vary slightly in appearance.

If you receive a product that differs significantly from its description, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the matter promptly.

Some products on this site are medical or mobility aids. They are not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your needs, we strongly recommend consulting your GP, occupational therapist, or other qualified healthcare professional before purchasing.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices on our website are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but any change will not affect an order that has already been confirmed.

We accept payment via the secure methods displayed at checkout. Payment is taken at the time of order. We use secure, encrypted payment processing and do not store your full card details on our systems.

If a pricing error is identified after your order is placed, we will contact you before processing the order. You will have the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Orders and Contract

Placing an order on our website constitutes an offer to purchase. A contract between you and Disability Ireland is only formed when we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, for example in the case of a pricing error, product unavailability, or suspected fraudulent activity.

Please ensure your contact and delivery details are correct at the time of ordering. We cannot be held responsible for delays or failed deliveries resulting from incorrect information provided by the customer.

6. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders promptly. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are indicative only — we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates, particularly during busy periods or in the event of courier delays outside our control.

Delivery is available to addresses in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and mainland Great Britain. Delivery charges, if applicable, will be clearly displayed before you complete your purchase.

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. If your order arrives damaged, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence so we can arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.

7. Returns and Refunds

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not happy with your order for any reason, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your goods.

Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (UK) and the European Communities (Protection of Consumers in Respect of Contracts Made by Means of Distance Communication) Regulations 2001 (Republic of Ireland), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving a reason.

To exercise your right to cancel, please notify us in writing via our contact page or by email before the 14-day period expires. You must then return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation. The cost of return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied.

Exceptions

For hygiene reasons, certain products cannot be returned once opened or used. These include but are not limited to: pressure relief cushions, mattress overlays, incontinence products, and any product that comes into contact with the skin. This does not affect your statutory rights if the product is faulty.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If your item arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no additional cost to you, including return postage.

Refund Processing

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that the goods have been returned, whichever is earlier.

8. Warranty

Products sold by Disability Ireland are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable. Warranty terms vary by product and manufacturer. Details of any specific warranty are included in the product packaging or documentation.

In addition to any manufacturer warranty, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) or the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 (Republic of Ireland) are not affected by these terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Disability Ireland shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our website or products purchased from us.

Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that order.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

The products we sell are intended as aids to daily living and mobility. They are not medical devices designed to treat or cure medical conditions. We accept no liability for injury or harm arising from misuse of products, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, or use of products for purposes for which they were not designed.

10. Intellectual Property

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.

For customers in the Republic of Ireland, nothing in these terms affects your rights under Irish consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act 2007 and the European Communities (Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts) Regulations 1995.
